A group of colorful Caribbean islands that has different type of beaches based on taste and activities.

There are three main islands/Tres Islas principales : Saint Thomas, Saint John and Saint Croix. All of them connected through different Ferry companies. Two of them are/ Dos de las differences companías de botes son: Bigredbarge.co and lovecitycarferries.com. You can cross islands with your vehicle on the barge and spend the day there. It takes approximately 20 min. Always call before if you didn't make reservations and check the ferry schedule on the receipt once the ticket is purchased, their websites are not updated and getting stuck in another island with no hotel is not fun. (worst case at least you have your car to sleep inside it)

Utilizando el ferry se puede visitar otra isla, incluso solo por un día, desde la mañana temprano hasta tarde en la noche. Ir de una isla hacia la otra lleva 20 min. Conviene siempre chequear los horarios en el recibo y no en su sitio online, dado que no están actualizados allí. Quedarse varado en otra isla sin hotel no es mucha diversion... Al menos que estes dispuesto a dormir en el auto.

Saint John has beautiful beaches, the one that I could visit was called Honeymoon Beach. This is a very hidden spot. To get there your vehicle must stay in the parking space, and a shuttle takes you down to the beach, through a very narrow path. This beach is a little piece of heaven, there are tents to rent and even beach chairs. It is small and quiet, perfect for couples. There are not too many kids, is not crowded, the water is calm...Perfect for paddle boarding and snorkeling. The water is extremely turquoise and the sand is almost white. There is a bar that offers delicious cocktails, and they even bring the drinks and snacks to your chair.

Another beach in this island that was very recommended it's called Maho Beach, apparently very similar to Honeymoon beach, with calm waters, soft sand and good for snorkeling. this beach is more popular and it gets crowded, reason why I avoided it. It is famous for having crystal waters and twin pals that are perfect for photographies.

La Isla the Saint John tiene playas hermosas, una de las cuales es llamada "Honeymoon Beach". Es un lugar bastante escondido, para llegar allí se debe estacionar el vehículo en un terreno que esta al lado de la parada del taxi -un camion con multiples asientos- y el taxi te llevara por un camino angosto hacia la playa. Este rincón es un pedazo de cielo, Se pueden rentar reposteras e incluso carpas. Las aguas son tranquilas para hacer paddle boarding, snorkeling y relajarse. No es muy concurrida, y ademas no hay muchos niños corriendo alrededor. el agua es extremadamente turquesa y el arena es casi blanca. Ademas, hay un bar que ofrece snacks y tragos, y hasta te los llevan a donde estes tomando sol.

Otra playa que fue muy recomendada se llama Maho Beach, aparentemente muy similar a Honeymoon Beach. con aguas calmas, arena suave y buena para hacer snorkel. Lo que tiene esta playa es que se llena mucho de gente, y es famosa por tener dos palmeras que se cruzan en las que los visitantes hace fila para sacarse fotos.

Saint Thomas is an island that offers tons of activities with different prices. The hotel was the best part. Its location, up in the mountain was the key to enjoy of beautiful sunsets, amazing views, and tasteful breakfasts.

This place called Mafolie, has also a very nice restaurant and a priceless view of Charlotte Amalie, the capital. The best dishes to try in the island are: Sword fish, Lobster, Mahi Mahi, crabs, shrimps. Fish is the specialty.

La isla de Saint Thomas cientos de actividades con diferentes precios. El hotel fue la mejor parte, y la clave fundamental para disfrutar de una vista increíble, un atardecer maravilloso y deliciosos desayunos por la mañana que estaban incluidos con las estadía.

Este lugar llamado Mafolie tiene también un restaurant de excelencia con una invaluable vista de la bahía de Charlotte Amelie, la capital de este conjunto de islas. Los mejores platos para probar en la isla son: Pez espada, Langosta, Mahi Mahi, cangrejos, y camarones. El pescado es la especialidad.

A very nice hike is the Brewers Hike, next to Brewers Bay. It requires a lot of climbing, the path is actually rocks going up hill, it is very steep and not recommended to do when raining. The trail is marked with blue and red spray, and there are also ropes to help people when it gets too steep. Getting to the top takes 30/40 min. To come down it may take 20 min. The view of Brewers Bay from the top of the mountain is breathtaking and a satisfactory reward.

After the strenuous hike Brewers Bay is the perfect beach to rest, home of lots of turtles and stingrays that can be seen swimming in the water very easily with a snorkel. There are restrooms, showers and a little bar and food trucks. This beach doesn't rent kayaks, paddle board or snorkeling gear.

Un punto muy bueno para escalar es Brewers Hike, junto a Brewers Bay. Requiere escalar sobre un terreno muy rocoso sin sogas y cuando el terreno es muy inclinado hay unas sogas colocadas en los troncos de los arboles para ayudarte a seguir subiendo. El camino esta marcado con pintura azul y roja. Llegar al punto mas alto de la montaña lleva de 30 a 40 minutos. Para bajar de la misma son unos 20 minutos, bajar no requiere de todo el esfuerzo invertido para subir. La vista de Brewers Bay desde la cima de la montaña es maravillosa y una satisfactoria recompensa.

Luego de la agotadora escalada Brewers bay es la playa perfecta para descansar, hogar de tortugas marinas y mantarayas que con el correspondiente equipo de snorkel, pueden ser vistas nadando. Esta playa tiene baños, duchas y food trucks. Esta playa no renta paddle boards, ni rayas ni equipo de snorkel

The 99 steps:

These actually 103 steps take you up hill where you will be able to appreciate a beautiful view of the bay, the vegetation is abundant and colorful.

Estos 103 escalones te llevan cuesta arriba donde disfrutaras de una bellísima vista de la bahía, la vegetación es abundante y colorida.

This was one of my favorite activities and very worth it. The boat is gorgeous and the experience is unforgettable. The sun seems to become bigger and it hides behind the horizon in a perspective that I hadn't experienced before.

Esta actividad fue una de mis favoritas y vale mucho la pena. El bote es precioso y la experiencia es inolvidable.

Magens Bay:

This picture was taken from a spot called Top of the Mountain, famous for their banana daiquiris and this exquisite view.

Magens Bay is a nice beach, a little bit crowded. It has a huge parking lot and is ideal for paddle boarding and kayaking. Also hosts lots of sea turtles that can be seen from the kayak. There is a rental chair service and a magnificent bar with tropical cocktails.

Magens Bay trailhead also offers a long hike of 1.8 mile with a very nice view on the top.

Esta foto fue tomada desde un lugar llamado Top of the Mountain, famoso por sus daiquiris de banana y su exquisita vista. Magens Bay es una playa linda, un poco concurrida. Tiene un estacionamiento bastante grande y es ideal para hacer paddle boarding, andar en kayaks, y ver tortugas marinas. Rentan sillas de playa y tienen un magnifico bar que ofrece cocteles tropicales.

Magens Bay ofrece una caminata cima arriba de unas 1.8 millas con una muy buena vista en la cima.

Coffee addicted? If you are like me and can't start your day without a cup of good coffee, Virgin Islands Coffee Roasters has a coffee shop with very affordable coffee and it tastes pretty good. It is "self service" so there is no cashier. You can pick in between hot or cold coffee or tea. There is milk and half&half, and a self checkout.

Si sos adicto al café como yo y no podés empezar tu día sin una taza de buen café, Virgin Islands Coffee Roasters tiene una tienda de café con un accesible precio y sabe muy bien. Dispone de un autoservicio en el que se puede elegir entre cafe caliente o frio, y té. También ofrece leche o crema. Y al momento de pagar también es un dispositivo de autoservicio con tarjeta de crédito o débito.

Este destino que pertenece a territorio de Estados Unidos es una de las mejores opciones si se quiere is a un sitio de playa cálido evitando lugares como Florida, que están muy concurridos o que ya son muy típicos.

The Virgin Islands are American territory and one of the best options to go to a warm beach avoiding crowded places or typical destinations.
