A typical weekend trip to Nashville is something that doesn't requiere too much planning. In fact, just with the plain tickets and hotel you are ready to go.
Basically getting lost through Broadway avenue and some intersections, is the way to explore this city If what you have in mind is to go on a classic Nashville weekend getaway. Bars all over Broadway: Kid's Rock, Jason Aldean's, Florida Gerogia line, the list goes on.
Where to stay in Nashville?
From my perspective and what I lived, staying a few blocks away from Broadway is perfect. You want to be located in a walkable distance but you don't want to be right over Broadway where the music is super loud as well as the crowd.
Is it safe?
This is the question that I always have first in mind when traveling by myself. I did travel in group and it seemed very safe, although one of them got pickpocketed. I do know people who went by themselves and affirm it is safe, but of course if you are alone, it is better not to plan on getting a lot of drinks to be alert, and look up after yourself. If you are a woman traveling alone, you will make friend with a group of ladies quiet fast, I have no doubts that any group of women that acknowledge that you are traveling alone would invite you to tag along.
There are only a few tips that I would like to list:
Party Tractor
Brunch spot
The Hamptons Social
Daddy's dogs
I remember being on Broadway avenue late at night, after the bars, needing food with my entire being, and there was a one line to get everywhere even for a slice of pizza. Daddy's dog saved my life two nights in a row, this hotdog stall gets food ready very quickly and prices are good!
Here you can find all the locations.
Country Music Hall of Fame
This museum has it all: How country music was born, they blend from different cultures, the evolution of country music. it has artist's costumes, and you got out with a general understanding of what country music represents in Nashville.
Check how to get tickets and hours of operation.
Ole Smoky Distillery
Book a Moonshine Tasting at the Ole Smoky Distillery. This place has long tables, games, food, indoor and outdoor sitting, and it is very affordable. Some of the drinks are 128 alcohol proof. The amount offered for tasting is less than a shot. You can pick the flavors, although not all of them are offered for the tasting experience.
Something that we wanted to do but we couldn't...
Dolly Parton's rooftop bar is called White Limozeen

Where to get a nice hat?
Big Time Boots! this store is on Broadway, it has a variety of prices and quality, from a 20 bucks hat to a $500 nice quality accessory.
Best time to go to Nashville:
I run cold therefore I hate feeling even chilly. Any time between spring and fall I would say it's perfect. During the Summer it get's too crowded and although lines are long they go fast.
What to wear?
if you go during the summer as I did, don't even think of a jacket unless you wear it on the airport/airplane. It is super hot! During the day you melt, during the night is equally hot, especially inside the bars and clubs. Additionally if you are wearing texan boots and a cowboy hat, you will run extra hot, no need of either heavy or light jacket. Bring a swimsuit, shorts, tops, a crossed bag to keep in front of you and take care of your belongings in the middle of the crowd.
